Practice

I am a multidisciplinary theatre-maker working across directing, writing, dramaturgy, adaptation, and movement-led performance. With over 30 years’ experience across theatre-making, producing, and teaching, my practice focuses on developing new work, re-imagining classical and contemporary texts, and creating visually driven dance theatre from early concept through to performance.

I am the founder of Theatre Led Arts (est. 2008), created to platform emerging voices through new writing and interdisciplinary theatre-making. Through this I have led the development of multiple projects; working collaboratively with writers, performers and creatives to bring work to life across stage and community settings.

Through an MA in Dramaturgy I have deepened my focus on producing & dramatugy, with particular interest in seasonal programming, development processes, and working with new writers and theatre-makers. My work is grounded in a collaborative, workshop-led approach, often integrating movement, music and historical research into the development process.

My earlier career as a police detective continues to inform my dramaturgical approach, particularly in relation to stakes, power and human behaviour. I bring this into my work with artists, supporting the development of layered, truthful and dynamic storytelling.

LET’S MAKE WORK

I’m always interested in conversation around dramaturgy, interdisciplinary collaboration and new performance.
